Mila Bristow is Hort Innovation’s General Manager, Trade and Biosecurity R&D, joining the organisation in February 2023. Her team partners in investment to ensure protection of Australia’s trade advantage and innovation in managing pests, diseases and emerging threats, as well as supporting cross-sectoral plant biosecurity R&D through the Plant Biosecurity Research Initiative.

Mila is an agri-innovation insider with 25+ years’ experience as a research manager and a scientist, with a track record of driving applied RD&E to underpin sustainable economic development. She has an excellent network across production and conservation landscapes, with specialities in tropical forest science, management of land and water, plant biosecurity, and Indigenous livelihoods.
