Peter is the Assistant Secretary of Plant Systems and Strategies Branch in the Biosecurity Plant Division, Australian Department of Agriculture, Water and the Environment. His responsibilities include working with Australia’s plant industries to open new and improved markets, coordinating engagement with Australia’s key trading partners, strategising technical market access for plant products and engaging industry stakeholders.

Peter has worked in industry and for Australian and State Government in the environment, agriculture and resource sectors. Peter has worked closely with farmers, industry, state governments, scientists and trading partners to support productive and sustainable agriculture systems and safe trade for over 20 years. Peter has a Masters in Natural Resources and is a Fellow of the Australian Rural Leadership Foundation.
