Michael Weldon
Co-Host, Farm to Fork
Michaels Cooking career began in 2011 when he entered Master Chef. Originally reluctant – a mate’s dare to enter saw a last-minute scramble to have his entry form in before the deadline. The dare was the beginning of a dream – to forge a career in cooking. And from his first cook on camera he’s never looked back. Through hard work and some serious enthusiasm Michael made it to the final 2 of the competition and was narrowly beaten in the final.
The MasterChef experience also helped formed a strong relationship with Coles Supermarkets. Who he has worked with since 2011. His current position is as Ambassador and Development Chef. In Michael’s role as an ambassador, he spends time cooking and showcasing the products on offer at Coles. His mission; to help make everyday Aussies lives easier by inspiring them in the kitchen.
Since 2019 Michael been the host of Channel 10 cooking show Farm to Fork. F2F explores the path food takes from the farm and producers, to people’s kitchens. Its appeal come from showcasing how best way to use those ingredients to create memorable meals at home. The show is now in its 7th season.
Michael’s second MasterChef was in 2022 on the fans vs favourites addition of the show. This stint will be remember for helping others. That, and his ability to perfectly cook fish. Until he didn’t and a fish faux pas sent him home! Thankfully it was with a smile on his face and his passion for food reinforced.
Michael is back working with Coles busier than ever as an Ambassador and product developer. He is also filming the newest season of Farm to Fork so there is lots to get excited about.
More recently Michael has been able to pair his love of sport, namely golf with his passion for cooking. Working with the Gema Group to bring together menus for both the Australian Open Golf and Liv Golf events over the past couple of years.
