Tim Sides

A 5th generation farmer, Tim grew up on the edge of the Murrumbidgee Irrigation Area and has been around horticulture most of his life. He is an expert in sustainable agriculture, biosecurity, resilient natural resource management and climate change. Tim has built a career in providing sound policy advice and administration of government programs in climate change and sustainable agriculture in both state and Commonwealth government departments.

Tim is the Director of the Landscapes, Innovation and Adoption Program for the Future Drought Fund within the Department of Agriculture, Fisheries and Forestry. Tim and his team work with industry, research organisations and farming communities to deliver projects focussing on innovation, natural resource management, and long-term research, that lead to increased drought resilience through extension and adoption of sustainable farming practices and systems.
